Oil Shortage Recuperation

Source: treehuggerYes, finally the oil shortage is coming to an end! The oil shortage was really a bumpy obstacle in people’s life journey that did not just have major impacts on products, businesses, ecosystems, and so forth but made many come to appreciate the availabilities that we have over it today. Personally the oil crisis helped me value the oil we have and how I should use it wisely. The oil crisis showed me that as humans, we highly rely on oil for our every day life and that without it we would greatly have to adapt to a new way of life that may cause us to have a shorter lifetime. I truly cannot imagine what life would be like without oil completely, I mean it was just an oil shortage that we are currently recuperating from and I felt that soon I would go be going crazy. The shortage of fresh meat, vegetables, fruits, and milk really had me worried, for a second I thought we would soon starve to death. This oil crisis made me realize that in order to stop depending on oil so much I have to begin going thinking “green” such as walking from one point to another more often. Instead of having someone drive me to stores that I am able to walk to within 30 minutes I will instead walk to them and save some gas. I have also started planting my own vegetable garden in my back yard and I think it’s great. I know it’ll take some time for my vegetables to grow but soon I will be having the fresh vegetables I need a few steps away. My community needs to start creating a plan, to make a week in every month a try hard to live oil free kind of thing; recycling, reusing, and using public transportation. In order to prevent another oil crisis we have to take care of the oil that we have today. The government needs to contribute as well by creating changes that will lower the amount of oil dependency. One way could be to change the type of transportation that is used in war, instead of using regular transporting vehicles that consist of gas, hybrid or electric cars, and airplanes should instead be created.
Source: laistIn order to decrease my carbon footprint, I need to take action now! For example now I am going to unplug electronics in my house every weekend, recycle, and hitch a ride from my friends when I am able to. I hope that I can resist slipping into old habits and I am pretty sure that I will because after going through this oil crisis, I certainly do not want to experience an oil shortage again. The oil crisis really impacted my life in a way that made me realize the products that I consume daily greatly use oil and were a part of the oil crisis all along. I have now decided to go natural one week every month, meaning that I will unplug most of my house electronics, use public transportation, use fluorescent light bulbs, and reuse plastic products.

The Seafood is Fresh

Source: hotelclub
Al’s Seafood all the Way restaurant is the best, not only is the food fresh, tasty, well seasoned, and affordable but I constantly make sure my customers are being well accommodated and get the best quality fish served by my staff. I can say that my seafood restaurant is a success, weekends are usually the best, people waiting in line and others are being seated. I make sure my customers get the finest seafood dishes and that they are well cooked, good enough to eat! Just last week, we had a line of people waiting for an hour or so, my staff tried their best to keep everyone accommodated while attending those that were already seated. By the end of the day it all turned out a success, people left with a smile on their faces and returned the next day for more! I like knowing that I’m the owner of such a successful place that others are able to enjoy of. My restaurant is people’s bait and people are the fish eating my bait but due to the oil crisis fish are not biting on my bait. Now a day’s fresh fish and other seafood’s are hard to find because of the contamination the oil crisis has caused. Here at Al’s place I get the best from the best and luckily I have still purchased fresh seafood that has been certified by the Health department but somehow people tend to believe otherwise. They tend to think that the seafood served here at Al’s place is contaminated which has not just shown a downfall of the amount of costumers but lowered revenues being made. I just don’t know what’s going to happen? What will it be of Al’s place, will I have to close it down? I just have so many questions and no answers. Now I’m thinking on whether buying more fish to sell or whether it will just be a waste of money that I’ll be investing. When will people begin buying again and for how much longer will I be able to purchase fresh fish?

Down the Hill our Economy Goes

Source: Awoko
Day after day businesses continue to close, just yesterday a local store by the neighborhood closed because fresh products were no longer available. That was a bummer! Quinceanera and dress businesses in Huntington Park have begun to close down because people are no longer consuming and it’s like OMG because with prom coming up, where will I get my dress! Many have lost their jobs and many have been underemployed as well, take my sister for example. She works at the Huntington Park Chamber of Commerce and she hasn’t lost her job yet but now she works four days a week instead of five. I mean when she worked the whole week she barely made enough to pay her bills and have enough for gas. Now that she is working four days a week she walks to work since it is not as far and tries to stay home during the weekend so she does not waste gas. I think it sucks! We are all being affected by the oil shortage which is why I have begun making healthier and wiser decisions. I have begun buying organic products, walking, riding my bike, or simply taking the bus and metro to get around but sometimes it is exhausting. The weather is not always fresh, the sun is very bright and when I walk or ride my bike I tend to sweat and it’s nasty, especially after a while when I begin to feel all sticky. With the shortage of oil, many are no longer using their cars, causing the few metro transits that are available to be full. It’s such a fuzz at times.
Gas prices seem to rising every week which is why I have begun riding the bus to get to school and come back home. Now I cannot have the luxury of having my mom take and pick me up from school because I feel that I am just making her waste more money on as.
Elasticity is playing an important role in this economic crisis because people are now purchasing substitute products for the original products which are expensive, substitutes are much cheaper and affordable. People are demanding less of the things that they were once able to afford and are trying to find the cheapest products that substitute those others. Now I am not buying coffee from star bucks but instead going to the donut shop for some.
